Oscar de la Renta’s Childrenswear Line Prepares for Easter

In preparation for Easter, I caught up with Marissa Kraxberger, Vice President and Art/Head of Creative at Oscar de la Renta’s childrenswear line.

I asked her what celebrities kids she would most like to dress and what she would put them in, and also asked her about how she would plan a high fashion Easter Egg Hunt.

7fbb844c-0524-4243-8dbd-0e0b7b1982e6Marissa Kraxberger said she would really like to dress Jessica Alba’s daughters, Honor and and Haven. Kraxberger met Jessica Alba in 2011 when she was pregnant with Haven (and Marissa was pregnant with her son Hayden). “What she has done with her company Honest is so inspiring and I really believe in her vision.” said Kraxberger.

Marissa says she’d love to dress Jessica Alba’s younger daughter Honor in her button down linen dress (with bow detail) which retails for $245.

Betsey Johnson Styles the Windows at Macy’s Herald Square

20130313_14405470-year-old design extraordinaire, Betsey Johnson caused a whole lot of hubbub on 34th street yesterday, as she publicly staged a window display promoting her new dress line at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City. Betsey sired up so much attention, that an ambulance actually collided with another motor vehicle on 34th street.

The event was super fun, and drew a crowd of lots of Betsey Babes decked out in Betsey dresses from past and present. Betsey, along with her assistant Brandon Aldrige and the folks at Steve Madden decked out the windows with her new dresses manufactured by The Levy Group, Betsey jewelry and M&J Bridal Salon tiaras. Betsey painted faces on manikins and also painted “ ak_betsey_macys_march2013Lipstick, Diamonds, Champagne, Rock and Roll” on the wall behind her display. Betsey also brought her granddaughter, Layla along for the ride, for what proved to be a very adorable three hours.

857809_193531560770759_70908058_oThe new line, which is available at betseyjohnson.com, Macy’s, Nordstrom and other fine retailers, looks great–my favorite dress is an update to her old Film Noir dress, and is adorn with a butterfly print, but the dress is also available in black.

Betsey will be back at Macy’s in May to do another public appearance and meet and greet with her fans–needless to say, we’re really looking forward to that.

Kaley Cuoco Rocks McGinn Dress

image005Kaley Cuoco of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory arrived at The Hollywood Reporter’s Most Powerful Stylist luncheon yesterday in Los Angeles wearing a blue and yellow ombre printed dress from McGinn that features a black patent collar, really giving it some added flair.

McGinn’s Marlie printed dress retails for $325, and is available at Nordstrom.

Daniel Vosovic Shows Fall 2013 Collection

Daniel Vosovic showed his Fall 2013 collection at The W Hotel in Union Square today. The collection began with a view of a modern day female aristocrat. Mr. Vosovic sees the bold women wearing his line craving a colorful, textured look with a hint of rebellion. He says the collection has manifested into a deceptively simple collection, both in execution and detail.

Kenya Moore Releases ‘Gone With The Wind Fabulous’ Music Video

kenya-moore-rhoatlFormer Miss USA and Real Housewife of Atlanta, Kenya Moore put out a music video for her song Gone With The Wind Fabulous last night before appearing on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live last night, which is currently on the road at SXSW.

The video pokes fun at Phaedra Parks, Porsha Stewart and Walter Jackson, all people Ms. Moore has developed rivalries with on the show. The video starts off with Shangella of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” playing Porsha Stewart and poking fun at comments that Stewart has made on the show, like thinking years have 265 days. The video proceeds to have two church choir members covering Gone With The Wind Fabulous, when a plus sized actress with very saggy boobs walks in in a bathing suit spoofing one Ms. Parks wore in Anguilla. Next we see an actor playing Walter Jackson, and going off on Kenya’s claims that Walter Jackson is gay, the actor come out in very short shorts and is reading ‘Douche Bag Magazine’ that is on a search for America’s Next Top Bottom. Ms. Moore also plays up Beyoncé Knowles’s Super Bowl comments, by mimicking the Single Ladies music video. Finally the video ends with Ms. Moore empowering a bunch of young tutu wearing girls.
