Window treatments often enhance the ambiance of a room and give new meaning to the decoration. While drapery rings are common things used in a window treatment to attach the draperies to the curtain pole, they are also used to give finishing touch to the window treatments. In order to hang curtains on a window featuring a smart and trendy decor, the drapery rings must be chosen with care. The rings must match the sleek look and modern style in order to add to the essence of the decor.
At about twenty past ten in the morning on Thursday, February 9th, Max Azria was one of the first to present at Lincoln Center and really set the tone for what we were to expect for the week. Personally, I think I was a bit underwhelmed by the color palette at the beginning of the show with a lot of neutral colors and greys, but the show got a bit more interesting with some brighter orange colors.
The element that stood out the most was the integration of fur into the garments: one dress featured a light brown and black fur shoulder, while others featured fur selves.
BCBGMAXAZRIA was founded in 1989 by Designer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Max Azria. In 1991 Azria’s wife and muse, Lubov, joined BCBGMAXAZRIA as Creative Director. Named for the French phrase “bon chic, bon genre,” a Parisian slang meaning “good style, good attitude,” the brand embodies a true combination of European sophistication and American spirit. Giovanna Randall, the head designer and CEO of HONOR has had an interesting past. An opera singer turned pre-medical student, turned luxury designer, Giovanna trained at FIT before interning at the CNC Costume National in Milan.
The Fall 2012 show marks the fifth collection for HONOR, which is currently available at its flagship store in Manhattan, located at 68 Gansevoort Street and will soon be available online at www.honornyc.com.
After spending the morning at BCBG, which showed little color, I was happy to see a lot of bright pinks, purples, blues, and neon yellows. Randall chose to accessorize her collection with some really great brightly colored briefcases, which also really brightened the collection. Photos and runway video after the jump…
Last night I had the pleasure of meeting superstar iconic designer Betsey Johnson.
The 69-year-old breast cancer survivor known for ending each show with a cartwheel caused quite the hubbub at Macy’s 34th street location in Manhattan, celebrating the launch of her new line of watches. Hundreds of fans lined up to chat, get autographs and snap photos with their favorite designer. Betsey was super sweet and over the top as always. When she came out, she started jumping up and down on the couch Macy’s put out for her and (much to security’s chagrin) polled her fans for questions. She seemed very excited to see me in full drag in one of her dresses and even tweeted a photo of us!
