Marc Jacobs Launches Trio Of Sunny Fragrances

Elle-marc-jacobs-BA6zY2-fragranceMarc Jacobs is launching a new Sunshine Editions fragrance collection just in time for spring. This blossoming line is a lighter take on the designer’s classic scents, and will include Daisy Sunshine, Daisy Eau So Fresh, and Oh, Lola! Sunsheer.

While the perfume trio still flaunts Jacobs’s signature floral aesthetic, each adorable bottle has a unique pastel tint. Daisy Sunshine carries a sun-inspired hue, which matches the scent’s lychee and apricot notes. Daisy Eau So Fresh is a perfect shade of pink, representative of its grapefruit and strawberry aroma. While Oh Lola! Sunsheer emits hints of vanilla, peony, and raspberry, its bottle is a delightful green.

The U.S. collection will only include Daisy Sunshine ($65) and Daisy Eau So Fresh ($75), both of which will be available at Sephora in March. Oh, Lola! Sunsheer will be available in the U.K. by February 27.

Hello Kitty, Hello Art! at Openhouse Gallery

betsey-johnson-hello-kittyNearly four decades after the brand launched, the Hello Kitty brand is more popular than ever.

An exhibit boasting art inspired by the pop culture icon, “Hello Kitty, Hello Art!,” opens Friday in Little Italy. It celebrates a new book of the same name. The fashion-conscious feline also has partnered with style and beauty brands like Sephora and Forever 21.
And she recently made her debut as a balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
“I love Hello Kitty,” gushes designer Betsey Johnson, one of 45 artists whose Kitty-themed pieces will be on display at Openhouse Gallery on Broome St. Friday through Sunday. “She’s fun, accessible, global – absolutely established worldwide. Everybody knows Hello Kitty.”

Cynthia Rowley’s Styler Launch Party at Sephora, NYC

Cynthia-Rowley-Ceramic-Styler-Launch-Party-at-Sephora-2083-204x300On Saturday, I went over to Sephora in the Meatpacking district where the CFDA award winning designer launched the Amika X Cynthia Rowley ceramic styler. The event was really fun; Cynthia hosted a meet and greet with fans, they raffled off an amazing dress from Rowley’s spring collection, and ladies were treated to free hair styling with the Amika team.

The event was also really laid-back, which I liked. Cynthia walked in by herself off the street and there weren’t any wristbands, lines, or security barricades.

The limited-edition styler, which is sold exclusively at Sephora, is really cool looking and features tech-grade, ceramic plates and a gorgeous floral print designed by Cynthia. The floral, ceramic styler retails for $115 and includes an oversize poster of the Rowley’s print and a backstage look at her spring show. See more photos after the jump.

Betsey Johnson Fragrance Launch at Sephora

Ak-47-Betsey-Johnson-Sephora-3967-2-541x812After saying hi to Monique Lhullier at Saks Fifth Avenue, Kristen and I hopped down one block to Sephora Fifth Avenue where Betsey Johnson was launching her new fragrance, TooToo. Models sporting giant tulle tutus were dancing on pedestals and all of the employees had pink hair extensions (showing their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month).

Betsey’s PR whooshed us up onto a balcony where Betsey was doing press interviews. I asked her about her new fragrance which she “absolutely loves” and spent over a year perfecting. Check out the video below…
